A Nice Weekend so Far

Wow, how nice it is to have my husband home. He really makes mine and Trey's life so much brighter when he is around. I just love him so much!
Last night, we went to a friend's house to celebrate Misty Lou's birthday. You will hear me mention her quite alot as well. Misty and her soon to be husband, John, are our other husbands and wives, lol! I can always count on John to help me with anything when Cory is out of town and likewise with Cory and Misty. The get together was at one of my other girl's house, Shari. These two girls are some of the best friends a girl could ask for. I can honestly say that I could not stand them at first, but they grow on you pretty quickly. Shari cooked fajitas and Trey and Maleah (Shar's daughter) jumped on the trampoline all night. I got sick 5 times last night and we called it a night early.
I woke up this morning in a wonderful mood, looking forward to Lace's baby shower tomorrow at our house. I went to Card and Party and got alot of cute baby boy stuff for decorations. I hope she has a good turnout tomorrow.
Cory and Trey threw the ball around a little bit this morning. Trey loves it when Cory is home to do this with him. It doesn't take them long to assume their normal positions...Cory in the chair with remote in hand and Trey in his bedroom with the Wii remote in his hand! Some things never change!
Hope you all are having a wonderful time with your family this weekend as I am with mine!

Funny Story About Trey

As Trey and I were heading to school on Friday, we drove by a man on the road that was running. He didn't have a shirt on and was probably 40-50. He had hair on his chest and was sweating. He wasn't a very pleasant sight. Trey looked at me and said, "Jess, that man needs a shirt on. Some people just can't go without a shirt. That was gross."

FRIDAY!! WOOHOO

Happy Birthday Misty Lou! I hope you have a wonderful day today!!
I didn't have alot happen today. I went with my sister to her doctor's appointment this morning. Everything is going good with her. Little Logan just moves alot more than the girls did but Lacy can handle it! I can't wait till October gets here. I told her today that my guess for DOB is 10.08.09. I had to go with 8 since Morgan's birthday is on the 8th and Bug weighed 8 lb 8 oz! I think 8 is a good number when it comes to her.
My wonderful FIL (father in law) took me to lunch today. We had such a good time and I am so lucky to have him in my life. He understands alot of what I am dealing with and has a way of putting things to me that makes it easier to understand. We decided today that we definitely need to start doing this every other week.
After lunch, I met back up with Lace at the mall. We looked at maternity clothes and she bought a couple things at Kirklands. Lace and Randy are doing Logan's room in sports stuff and Kirklands just happens to have those kinds of things to hang in the room. She got a really cute baseball sign that has a man throwing a ball in the background. Of course, while we were in the mall, the 2 preggo sisters had to stop by the Cookie Company and grab a snack. It was mighty tasty I might add!
I picked Trey up from school and we headed to Wal-Mart. While my son was complaining about having to go with me (he just loves shopping at Wallyworld) my MIL called and wanted to take us for some ice cream. She ended up picking him up from WalMart and they left to get something sweet.
When I got home, MY HUSBAND WAS FINALLY HOME! I was so excited to see him. I feel like I haven't seen him in forever! My MIL brought Trey home as well as some ice cream for Cory and me. Trey is reading now and Cory is asleep on the couch as I type. I am looking forward to a nice weekend with the family.
Hope you all had a wonderful Friday and have a nice weekend planned!
Tootles,
Jessa
PS...I finally have gained a couple pounds, woohoo! Well, I am not back to where I was when I originally got pregnant but we are getting closer!!

My Family

Howdy Everyone!!

I was told yesterday that I needed to do some things for myself. I started thinking about things I could do and thought blogging to world, sharing what is going on with my family, would be a good start. Now, my mom may have been an English teacher and my MIL (mother-in-law) is a grammer nut, but let me tell you that I am not. With that being said mom and MIL, please excuse anything you would find incorrect, lol!!

I want to first start out and tell you about myself. I was raised by the best woman on earth. I grew up with a single mom that did a heck of a job raising me and my sister. Lacy, my sis, is 18 months younger than I am. Mom taught at Carlisle which is a hole in the wall school in the middle of no where. I started at Carlisle in the 3rd grade and Lace (nickname) did in the 1st. Carlisle is about 11 miles from Troup, just south of Tyler. Pre K-12th is all on one campus. I graduated with 18 people in 1998. My mom taught everything from 3rd to 6th/7th grade. She was very respected at Carlisle and many parents always requested my mom to teach their children. Everyone knew everybody at Carlisle and everyone knew everyone's business at Carlisle.

As I said before, we lived with just mom. Our parent's divorced when I was 8 or 9. Mom did everything she could to provide for Lace and me. She taught all day at school and then worked at a department store at night. My sis and I spent alot of time together which I why I believe we are so close today. You will hear me talk alot about Lace in the posts to come. We may not have had class rings like everyone else did or the most expensive clothes but I would not take anything back from the way mom raised us. Mom moved to Maryland in 2000 to be with a gentleman that she met online actually. John is a wonderful man and loves my mom dearly. All I want is for her to be happy and he seems to be doing a good job of that. We miss her dearly! Love you mommy!

I also have other siblings on my father's side. I have a sister, Jennifer, from my dad's first marriage and a 13 year old brother named Chris from the marriage he is currently in. Jenn is alot like Lacy. They are 2 peas in a pod. Jenn lives in California and has 2 sons name Bryant and Blake. We don't get to see Jenn near as often as we would like. She did make it down for the wedding in January and hopefully will see her sometime next year at Lacy's wedding. Christopher lives with dad now. He is a sensitive kiddo but a really good kid. He has red hair just like our grandmother had. Love you 2!!

August 8, 2003, was the most miraculous day I ever witnessed in my life. Lace's first born, Morgan Taylor, came into our lives. She weighed 6 lb 13 oz and I was there to see everything! If anyone ever was in disbelief that there is a God, then they need to witness a birth. It was like I said, MIRACULOUS! MoMo (nickname) is a princess!! She is very sweet and smart. She actually gave me nickname that all the kiddos in my life call me, Jessa. It was hard for her to say the 3 syllabell one, so Jessa stuck like glue. Mo just started 1st grade and is just a beautiful, smart little girl. I love her so much and she will always hold a special place in my heart.

October 13, 2005, was the 2nd most miraculous day in life. Lace's second born came into the world at 8 lb 8 oz (which I was I guess in the delivery room I might add, lol) and her name is Hailey Jane (aka Bugga). Wow, what can I say about Bug other than she is just like her momma. She is very high-strung and will be a little tom-boy just as her mother was. She is not a lover of men and that absolutely kills my husband. She will tell you NO in a hearbeat but is still one of my babies that will always tell you that I am her favorite aunt.

Lace has her first boy in her belly now and is due in October. His name will be Logan Drew. I am super-excited about it. I can't wait for him to get here. Lace needs a boy and I am happy that God has blessed her with one now!!

Throughout my twenties, I dated alot. I was the type that never wanted to be alone and would let someone walk all over me in order to not be alone. I had never been married but was engaged once. He lied to me one time and I was done. I had alot of good times with good friends that will never be forgotten. There are always things that I did or happened to me that I wish I could take back but I know that they all happened for a reason. I knew I wanted to settle down with someone that was right for me and I always knew that I wanted to be a mother. My whole life, everyone has told me that I would make a great mommy. I was born to be a mother and a wife and I knew that. The problem was that I was not going to settle for anything less than what I thought I deserved.

In December of 2008, some friends and I went to a local hangout to watch a concert. Aaron Watson was in town and I had never seen him before. Before the concert started, I noticed that Cory walked in. I had met Cory several years ago through some friends. He was married and I used to hang out with him and his wife at the time. In Novemeber, I had run into him a few times out and about. He told me that he was divorced and explained why. When I saw him that evening, I went up and gave him a hug like I always had done. He followed some friends and I back to where we had posted up for the evening. We started talking and one thing led to another. We danced several times that evening. I will always remember thinking that I can't believe I am dancing with Cory Turner. I always thought he was so handsome and nice and never would have thought that I would actually have a chance with him. We exchanged numbers and he called me the next day. I was in the mall Christmas shopping and my heart stopped I believe when he called me.

We saw each other many times in the next couple weeks. Lacy's birthday is right before Christmas and I remember telling her that I had someone I wanted her to meet at her party. The first words out of her mouth were, "here we go again Jess." I remember her telling me that she was tired of meeting all these people and then having them do something to me several months later. I explained to her that this one really was different. Needless to say, Cory and Lace hit off quick!

Cory proposed to me in August of 08 and we were married on January 24, 2009. The wedding was everything I could have imagined!

Cory has an 8 year old son named Trey. There aren't enough words to describe my love for him. He is the smartest kiddo I know. He is very sensitive, funny and a daddy's boy! Trey is in the 3rd grade this year. He and I spend alot of time together. He has been through alot in the last few months but is doing wonderful!! He listens well and argues just like his daddy does, lol! We have him alot and I am so thankful for the time we spend together.

You will hear alot about Trey in this blog. He is my life, as well as my husband. Trey can make me smile when I need it. He knows when I need a hug or knows when I need to hear I love you. He can turn a bad day into the best one ever!

Oh do I love Cory James! He is my rock! Cory currently works for Weatherford as a oil field operator. He has been gone a lot recently. This week, he left Tuesday for NM for several days. Hopefully, he will be home tomorrow. Trey and I miss him dearly! I love him so much and am so thankful that God brought us together. My life has completely changed since meeting him. All of those years of heartache were worth it to be where I am today.

Cory and I found out in May that I am pregnant with our first together! We are super excited. I am due February 9, just a couple weeks after our first anniversary. We find out Septemeber 17 what we are having!

I feel like I have the best family in the world. My immediate family is the best and then all the inlaws and brothers and sisters just make it the absolute best. We have some of the best friends in the world too....you know who you are!! Our life is wonderful right now and we owe it all to the Man above!

Well, guess this will do for now. I will do my best to do this everyday. I thought that being able to stay home would give me more time to do other things but that sure isn't the case. Being a stay at home mom is a job. I never understood until now. I always have something going on, especially since joining PTA. Keep Cory in your prayers as he returns home tomorrow! I hope you all enjoy reading my blogs as time passes.

Love to you all,

JESSA
