Good Tuesday to everyone!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and nice week so far!!
I have a couple days to catch you all up on everything. Sunday was Lacy's baby shower at my house. She had a very nice turnout and got some really cute things!! We played a game where Lace picked 6 friends to sit on the floor and suck 4 oz of water out of a baby bottle. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen. Morgan came down from upstairs and looked at the six ladies like they were crazy. She couldn't believe they were all sucking a baby bottle.
After that game, it was time to open gifts! She got diapers and clothes. Of course, Nurse Christina had to get her all the creams and baby oragel! She got the bottles that she needed and used with the girls and got some really cool stuff from mom. Mom cross-stitched her a baby blanket and put Logan's initials on a couple of shirts she got for him. The biggest hit for my sister and I was the Washington Redskins baby outfit. Of course, no one else like it but Lacy and I LOVED it!!
Trey had baseball practice Sunday evening and Cory said he did really well. He is one of the youngest on his team. This is Trey's first year where the kids pitch to the batters instead of the coaches. It is actually only Trey's 2nd time to play ball. He just started in the spring this year. He is really doing an AWESOME job! He understands everything about the game now. He will watch the Ranger games with me and Cory and can tell you where everyone plays, where they bat in the order and what each player's number is. He is amazing!!
Cory was home all weekend long and it was great! Having his smiling face around makes Trey and me so very happy. He did have to go out this morning very early though. Hopefully he will be home Thursday!
Every night before Trey goes to bed, Cory and I kneel and pray with him at his bed. If Trey doesn't want to pray, then me or Cory will. Last night Trey prayed and it was so cute. Before I tell you what he said, let me back up a bit to what we talked about over dinner. While we were eating, Trey mentioned that he wished he could spend more time with his daddy. We always tell him that we understand how he feels but sometimes that is just what Daddy's have to do. I told him that we should be very thankful that dad still has a job. We explained that there are alot of families in the world that have lots their vehicles and have maybe had to move out of their homes because a parent has been laid off. Cory said told him that if daddy wasn't working like he was then he wouldn't be able to play baseball and do alot of other things that many kiddos in the world aren't getting to do. He understands but it still doesn't make easy for him. I am just thankful that I am home every evening and he knows that one of us will ALWAYS be there for him.
With that being said, we headed up to his bedroom to pray. We always pray for one thing in general and if you are a family member or close friend, you know what that is. He always thanks the Lord for a wonderful day and last night, before he closed, he said "thank you for not having my dad get laid off yet." Remember, he is only 8! It was wonderful! I guess the whole not getting to play baseball comment paid off, lol!!
When I woke Trey up for school this morning, he asked if anyone was coming over this evening? I explained to him that it was a school night and we were just going to have a nice night together...just the two of us. I reminded him that the Rangers were playing a double header at 4 and he was super excited about that. He always has to remind me that he doesn't get to watch the whole game because I make him go to bed, lol. Why is bedtime so hard for kiddos???
